Pan Roasted Peanut (16 Mar 2007)
Growing up in the Philippines we often made our own roast peanuts. Of course peanuts are not really nuts at all and are a good source of peanuts. Especially as we didn't eat much beef.

Ginger Beef (18 Feb 2007)
Ginger beef is a staple of Chinese take outs the world over.

Chicken and Pork Adobo (13 Jan 2007)
Chicken and pork adobo is a delicious philippino dish. It is great to eat with rice. But it also can be really salty so be careful with how much you put in it. I personally like the chicken adobo but pork is great to. I hope you like the recipe!

Cassava Cake (07 Jan 2007)
This is a classic Filipino dessert enjoyed year round. Most of the ingredients can be found in an oriental store near you. I have found the most difficult ingredient to find is usually the coconut cream. If you can't find it don't worry. Simply use another can of coconut milk in it's place. Also it is easier to just buy the cassava already grated. It should be in the freezer section. You could cut the recipe in half but then you are left with 1/2 a can of everything. Or try making one thick cake. You'll have to cook much longer though. Careful, I'm not sure if it will all fit in one pan. I hope you enjoy it!

When I tried it, it reminded me so much of the squash and sitaw guinataans my mom made when I was a kid. It's amazing how much the saba tastes like squash when made like this!

Filippino Oxtail Kare-Kare (01 Jan 2007)
One of the more different filipinofoodreceipes that my mother cooks is Oxtail Kare-Kare. It tastes like peanut butter. My father doesn't really like it much as compared to most of my mothers dishes. But it is a notable Filippino Food receipe. The directions are below and are most simple. Eat it with rice and lumpia.
